How it works
Paste or type text into the box below and every count updates instantly as you go — no button to click. Word count splits your text on whitespace; character counts are shown both with and without spaces so you can check against strict limits like tweet or meta-description lengths. Sentence count looks for periods, question marks, and exclamation points, and paragraph count looks for blank lines between blocks of text. Reading time is a rough estimate based on an average reading speed of 200 words per minute. Everything runs locally in your browser — your text is never sent anywhere.

FAQ
How is word count calculated?
The text is split on whitespace, and each resulting chunk is counted as one word. Leading and trailing whitespace is ignored, and multiple spaces between words are treated as a single separator.
What's the difference between characters with and without spaces?
Characters with spaces counts every character including spaces, tabs, and line breaks. Characters without spaces excludes all whitespace, counting only visible letters, numbers, and punctuation.
How is reading time estimated?
Reading time uses an average adult reading speed of about 200 words per minute. It's a rough estimate — actual reading speed varies by content difficulty and reader.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Counting happens entirely in your browser as you type — nothing you write is transmitted or stored.
