How it works
This calculator finds the number of calendar days between two dates, then breaks that duration down into weeks, business days (Monday through Friday), and a years/months/days span — using the same date-borrowing logic as our Age Calculator. Check "include end day" to count both the start and end dates as full days (useful for things like counting the length of a stay); leave it unchecked to measure pure elapsed time between two points, like a project deadline. If you enter the end date before the start date, we calculate the duration between them and label it as reversed rather than showing an error.

FAQ
Does "include end day" change the day count?
Yes — it adds one extra day to count both the start and end dates as full days, useful for counting the length of a stay rather than the elapsed time between two points.
How are business days calculated?
The calculator counts every Monday through Friday in the date range, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. It doesn't account for public holidays.
What happens if I enter the end date before the start date?
The calculator still computes the duration between the two dates and labels the result "(reversed)" instead of showing an error.
